Abstract: The COVID 19 pandemic has made us realize the need and scope of Innovation in the healthcare space. Ithas been a turning point for the entire world, where-in systems had to be re-engineered to suit the situation and all this in the nick of time. While the world did come to a standstill, it couldn’t stay that way for long( 27). The catastrophic impact of the contagion would bring about changes in the functioning of almost every industry. The wide adoption of technology in almost every field, in the last few months has been a bonus. At the start of the pandemic there was immense fear in the minds of the people that they abided by the orders laid down by the governments of the shutdown. Studies have shown that in several situations the fear of visiting a hospital was so intense that certain illnesses got neglected which has even led to fatalities in some cases( 21). Most hospitals were taken by surprise and did not have guidelines in place to address the safety of the staff and patients. So that we can handle the patient load without a compromise. This paper looks at a qualitative analysis of what healthcare organizations are doing across the globe to re-build the brand among patients in the new normal and how design thinking principles when applied help with building brand trust.
